Yes it’s true! When MediaTek Inc. Launched their latest SoC Helio P70, Realme had announced that they will be the first brand to launch a Helio P70 powered Smartphone. And now it’s officially announced by Realme today on their Instagram and Twitter handles.

The new Helio P70 powered device will be of their new series named ‘U’. Coming to the Helio P70, the SoC is a minor upgrade to its predecessor. Mainly the clock-speeds of the of the CPU and GPU. It has enhanced AI engine, upgraded camera capabilities.

The new SoC is built in TSMC’s advanced 12nm FinFET technology, it have 4x ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked upto 2.1GHz and 4x ARM Cortex A53 clocked upto 2.0GHz. It is said to have 13% of performance boost over it’s predecessor. The chipset has the same ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU as it’s predecessor but clocked at 900MHz, which is also meant to give a graphics improvement. It supports 20:9 FHD+ resolution.

The P70 supports 24MP+16MP dual cameras or a 32MP single camera, and it has a support for Real time HDR. There is triple ISP which consumes lesser battery. The Chipset has an upgraded modem for connectivity, which supports Dual VoLTE and Dual ViLTE.

Overall its a minor upgrade from its predecessor Helio P60. The Helio P60 was a much appreciated chipset from MediaTek which was used in the debut Realme smartphone, named Realme 1, which itself proved to be a powerful one. Now it’s the time to see how Helio P70 justifies the hype built by Helio P60.
